Keanu Reeves grazed a photographer with his car while pulling out of a parking space in a southern California community, police said.
The incident took place just before 7.30pm on Monday evening in Rancho Palos Verdes, said a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy.
Deputy Sheriff Oscar Butao said,
(The photographer) was standing in the street in front of Mr Reeves’ 1996 Porsche when he was grazed by the car.
Police are investigating the incident, Butao said. While Reeves was unhurt, the extent of the photographer’s injuries were unknown.
Reeves, 42, is best known for his role as the hero, Neo, of The Matrix movies in which Earth has been overrun by machines and humans are trying to reclaim the planet.
The Matrix trilogy has raked in more than $US1.6 billion in worldwide ticket sales.
